About you and this role:
Dow has an intriguing opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to support the new Solution Polyethylene facility (Train 4 and 5) in Dow’s Alberta Operations, which is located in Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN). This position is part of the Path2Zero Project.

This individual will offer general administrative support to a newly established and expanding organization, assisting in the establishment of team norms and the welcoming of a diverse group of colleagues as the Solution Polyethylene plant (Train 4 and 5) operations teams expand and develop.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Under limited supervision, administer a diverse array of professional administrative services to the organization’s leaders, colleagues, or other groups.
- Competent in the management of the visitor process, the procurement of food and drink, the reserving of conference rooms, and the scheduling of meetings. May participate in meetings to assist with the presentation of materials or the recording of notes.
- Ensures that the team has the requisite supplies for success during the construction, commissioning, and start-up of the facility, as well as during normal operation.
- Demonstrates a sense of responsibility for their work.
- Capable of effectively prioritizing competing requests and multitasking. Exhibits proficiency and ease in the utilization of technology.

- Prepares travel itinerary and coordinates domestic and international business travel. Makes reservations for hotels, restaurants, and flights.
- Schedules meetings and receives meeting notices for the leader. Manages conflicting meetings in a proactive manner.
- Continuous enhancement of work processes and systems.
- Manage electronic and hardcopy documents in the server or library and ensure that documents and records are maintained in accordance with company policies.
- Provides guidance to the team and establishes the plant file structure to support the initial document control work process, continuing to provide support to the document control team for the facility.
- Serves as the focal point for technical office equipment to facilitate daily efficiency.
- Oversee the email distribution lists for the facility.
- Assist in the lead of the induction process for new team members, which includes providing introductions and facilitating the integration process.
- Compiles expense reports for oneself and others and submits them on behalf of the leader and/or team.
- Resolve discrepancies and provide reports to the cost center proprietor or budget manager; monitor and trace expenses against budgets.
- May serve as a safety warden for the workgroup and convey safety messages to the group.
- Demonstrates the ability to independently complete initiatives and contributes as an active team member to entire projects.
- Develops effective relationships and appropriate rapport within Dow.
