POSITION SUMMARY

The Sanitation Worker’s primary responsibility is to sanitize and clean the facility and production equipment in accordance with the company’s procedures, and they report to the Sanitation Supervisor. Furthermore, this position possesses a fundamental comprehension of the equipment’s function and rudimentary understanding of chemical applications, as well as the ability to conduct basic equipment breakdowns. It is essential to possess the ability to work efficiently in a team-based environment, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, manage multiple responsibilities, and make decisions under duress.

Responsibilities of Sanitation Worker Jobs in USA 2025

• Willing to execute a variety of responsibilities in accordance with the employer’s safety regulations and the supervisor’s instructions;
• Adhere to the GMP guideline and adhere to safety protocols, which may include, but are not limited to: lockout-tag-out, appropriate lifting techniques, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Inform the Sanitation Supervisor of any food safety concerns.
• Adhere to the Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines, which pertain to the appropriate cleansing and sanitation of all equipment necessary for this position.
• It is essential to be able to comprehend and adhere to the company’s established cleansing specifications and chemical usage instructions.
• Capacity to operate high-pressure and low-pressure water hoses, as well as cleansing and sanitizing compounds;
• Disassemble and reassemble production equipment; perform machine breakdowns for cleansing purposes.
• Manually clean equipment; rinse, foam, scour, and disinfect production equipment; clean in place equipment (CIP) to ensure that all areas meet standard requirements.
• Accurately complete sanitation daily documentation (checklists).
• Return all sanitation documents and instruments at the conclusion of the shift.
• Work independently or collaboratively;
• Inform the Supervisor and/or Team Leader of any sanitation issues that are observed during the shift.
• Develop and sustain POKA guides that pertain to all production operations.

REQUIREMENTS

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience in food production and/or manufacturing is advantageous.
• Preferred is an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices in the food production industry.
• Capacity to collaborate with others in a fast-paced team environment;
• Superior manual dexterity;
• High levels of physical stamina;
• The capacity to remain standing for extended periods of time;
• The capacity to prioritize and organize one’s workload, in addition to the ability to effectively comprehend and adhere to a diverse array of work procedures and guidelines (such as health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation);
